Rowdiness as on-brand service

It’s one a.m, and I’m writing this entry from Disneyworld’s All-Star Sports resort. Of course, Disney is truly one of the most branded companies of all time, and that’s why we parents don’t mind the fact that when you arrive, Disney attaches a vacuum cleaner hose to your wallet and dutifully proceeds to hoover out all of your money.

My seven-year-old son, Sean, and I have just experienced a lifetime’s worth of magic in one day… and it’s only been the first day of our vacation. When it comes to branding, no one does it better than Disney. Imagination. Excitement. Experience. On a grand scale.

Whispering Canyon is a trip. And an experience. With on-brand service. Which is not at all typical of most corporation’s service training. It’s not smiling bigger (those are generated naturally). It’s not being more polite. It’s being FUN! And noisy! And sometimes very very silly! For many of you who know Whispering Canyon, I have just three words for you, yelled at the top of our lungs….”WE NEED KETCHUP!”

’nuff said.
